How does the tube rotate ?
In this machine you do not rotate the tube. The abrasive rotate around the tube so its safer.

It can. It will operate with just about any grit or type of sanding belt made. That lets you do as little or as much work as needed.

I'm trying to figure out a more efficient way to clean the 7" O.D. pipe I weld at work. Lengths vary from 11-15”. I only need to surface prep the bottom inch but on both the inside and outside for welding purposes. Currently using a die grinder with a burr for the inside and my air sander for the outside. Has to be a way to get some automation involved here. Any suggestions?
There are machines made to clean the outside and inside of cut ends. It will take off the bur and clean up the surface ID and OD the 1" or so you need. ua-cam.com/video/1KEzK14bKEE/v-deo.html

Hand polishing is an art more than any thing else. It takes skill and time to become good at it. Machines help ease the wear and tear on people as polishing is not easy work and can be very dangerous. An experienced polisher is the best person to run these machines.

The machine can only do what the human tells it to. The same situation exists with every machine. A person that understands how to polish is the best person to operate the machine. The experience of the polisher is used to show the machine the best way to do the part no matter what the part is.

Why didn't the machine polish the face of the wheel? As shown at 4:48? Is it because the wheel is going in the front for steering?

@@piotrgaudynek3661 The design of this machine is more for commercial wheels much like Alcoa. Singles and super singles are possible.
Well., now i know why polished rims come from factory warped., bet those puppies are +380f when done., no need to run polisher @12,000rpm., all you do is warp them... you only need 6,000 rpm to get the exact same shine but you dont warp a rim... as a trucker it sucks going from alcoas to polished because you have to ad a shit load of weights pluss a ballance bag in the tire.
Heat can be an issue but these machines do not run at high RPM. The wheels are removed from the machine by hand when done. And while they are warm they are not too hot to handle by hand.

I was thinking on the lines of doing six wheels at one time.
Four drive rims and two steers at one time.
Typical polish time would be around 4 min per wheel so there is no real reason to do more than one at a time.

El pulido automático está muy bien pero como es Manuel no hay nada yo soy pulidor manual y te puedo pulir cualquier cosa que me dé desde un horno industrial a unos pendientes de mujer el pulido manual no tiene comparación cualquier fallo que tenga la pieza puedes parar y arreglarlo con la automática tienes que hacer todo el ciclo de nuevo un saludo desde Barcelona
You are correct by hand any thing can be done. The problem is hand polishing is an art as much as it is work. The body is not happy hand finishing large parts and there are many injuries. Automatic is good when you have many of the same part to do. A person who knows how to polish makes the very best person to operate this type of machine. It saves your body and you still get to apply your talent for longer period and be healthier. Cutting injury and getting a more consistent flow of parts is a big advantage.

The machines are not off the shelf and are built to you spec. Compound is done via spray guns.
Yeah, It did an awesome job on the smooth surfaces of this wheel, but what about the wheels that have ridges and other tight areas where this buffer wheel can't reach!
For deep wheels or to do the face there is another tool that is fitted. The entire wheel can be done.
